Jonah…for Lent!?!? Sounds fishy, but it’s a natural fit. When the Jews asked Jesus for a sign, He said, “None will be given it except the sign of Jonah,” and then proceeded to connect the ancient prophet to Himself as signs to the wicked generations (Luke 11:29-32). After three days in the belly of a great fish, Jonah was vomited up on dry land. After three days in the belly of the earth, Jesus rose with the good news of God’s prodigal grace. This Lent, we will explore the meaning of the Sign of Jonah and its connection to the cross of Christ and the empty tomb. Not only during our midweek worship services, but also on Sunday mornings as a new Adult Bible Class begins Sunday, February 21st. This class will follow the themes of our midweek services.
