Vision in Action!!

When we come together to worship, we praise God with hymns of praise; one song, many voices coming together in synergy to glorify our Creator.  This how we approach our Vision in Action plan at King of Kings.  One plan, many stewards and missionaries coming together to do the Lord's work!!  Here's a look at the Final Presentation to the congregation plus many of the details of our Vision in Action Plan.

Places to Serve

The LORD gives each one of us special gifts and talents to serve Him and do His work.  If you have not examined your special gifts, download our spiritual gifts survey!! Once you complete the survey, return it to the Church Office, we will score it and get it back to you including a list of ministry areas matched to your talents.

OUR MINISTRIES

Early Childhood Development Center
Providing love and care in a developmentally appropriate environment with the focus on Jesus’ love for all the children of the world. We continue to receive high honors from various agencies such as CCDS and … Weekly Chapel Times and Scripture Bites are presented as well for the children’s spiritual growth.

Education
Providing wonderful opportunities for children and adults to learn about God’s love through fun, engaging discoveries in the Bible as well as practical issues and topics (i.e. parenting; singles; grief; forgiveness; etc.). Sunday School has classes for 2 year olds on up. A nursery is provided for the lil’ ones. There are many adult midweek and Sunday classes offered as well as “Home Huddles” to meet various schedules. Be sure to check out each summer’s Vacation Bible School!

Elders
Men who serve the congregation by assisting the pastors with spiritual care for members; oversee and serve the worship services.

Fellowship
Providing excellent opportunities of “Building Loving Relationships” with one another and with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Such activities include Cook-Outs, Family Game Nights, New Member Receptions, Mother/Daughter Banquets, Father/Child Camping Trips, Serving Meals during Lent/Lent and more!

Home Huddles
Small groups of people of various ages and interests meeting for Christian Fellowship and topical/relevant discussions and studies. Most groups meet in different members’ homes where food and fun are just as prominent as the offering of love and renewal.

Homebound Visitation Team
Many individuals in our church family are limited by age, disability, or illness in their ability to participate in the ongoing life of the church.  Our desire is to provide a "ministry of presence" by communicating our love and concern for these homebound or hospitalized persons with personal visits from the pastoral staff and members of the congregation.  A "ministry of presence" is evident through one's physical presence in the homebound member's home along with one-on-one conversations.  it is not about trying to solve a homebound member's problems.  A member of our visitation team demonstrates the love of God and the love of His people through their conversations and time spent with the homebound member.

Human Care
Providing care and support for others through our Food Pantry; One Mission Ablaze; Blood Drives; sponsoring children through Compassion International and packaged hygiene kits for the homeless. Thanksgiving and Christmas Meal Baskets are given to needy families.

Lutheran Layman's League (LLL)
Christian outreach ministry supporting churches worldwide in its mission of Bringing Christ to the Nations-and the Nations to the Church. It is also a volunteer movement more than 100,000 people strong.

Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML)

For over 60 years the organization encourages and equips women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and financially support global missions.

Music
Lots of opportunities from traditional to contemporary styles. We have an adult choir, a pipe organ, a hand-bell choir, Children’s Chime Choir, and an upbeat Praise Team with drums, guitars, and keyboards.

Outreach
Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with our communities through various means like The Angel Ministry (a prayer ministry focused on the newly developing neighborhoods in North East San Antonio), National Night Out, and various public relations.

Power Tools, Men's Ministry
As God uses us as His tools, this men's ministry team reaches out to other men, builds life leaders, renews and strengthens our relationships with God, and challenges other men to be faithful fathers or mentors.

Prayer Chain
We have two active prayer chains that lift up the concerns and celebrations of our members, family, friends and neighbors. If you have a prayer request, email us or call the church office.
